What is Public and Stakeholder Involvement? This is the process for obtaining advice and recommendations from the public, and involving them in decision-making. Public and stakeholder involvement is the umbrella term or process and includes a range of interactive approaches (e.g. information and education, consultation, collaboration, partnership, delegated authority). Involvement can be targeted to specific stakeholders or segments of the public, or can be more general.


Who are Stakeholders? A stakeholder is an individual, organization or government interested in or engaged in environmental outcomes in Alberta.
