This report is designed to inform interested stakeholders of the 2006 results of the Specified Gas Reporting Program and to provide analysis of those results that are not provided elsewhere to Albertans. This report also includes analysis of national reported greenhouse gas emissions for the rest of Canada and the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory, which covers greenhouse gas emissions from more than just large industrial emitters.

Explains how Alberta's air quality is affected by natural factors, like climate and weather, and human factors, such as economic activity and industrial emissions. Long-term air quality data for several important contaminants and Alberta's approach to managing air quality are detailed in the report.

This kit is a curriculum-linked climate change unit that will help teachers improve their students' awareness and understanding of climate change.
It is composed of 6 lessons on these topics: history of climate change, the impacts of climate change, and human interactions. Each has a number of activities with teacher guides and copy sheets for student materials.

This document answers the following questions:
What is climate change … and why we should care? Is our climate changing?
What is the greenhouse effect? What are the possible effects of climate change in Alberta? So what can we do about climate change?

This protocol is applicable to projects that involve the capture and destruction of methane produced from anaerobic wastewater treatment processes and take actions to prevent the venting of biogas to the atmosphere. These systems could be installed as retrofits or modifications to existing wastewater treatment operations or implemented at new Greenfield facilities as the best available control technology1. The feedstock to the anaerobic digestion system may be untreated industrial wastewater or sludge produced from other wastewater treatment processes at the project site.

The 2007 Alberta data is also compared to the 2007 greenhouse gas emissions data collected under the National Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, which is a harmonized program that covers large industrial facilities for all of Canada. The data collected under the Specified Gas Reporting Program provides an annual inventory of greenhouse gas emissions from large industrial facilities in the province. It is also used to help track progress of greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies.

The purpose of this study was to assess the uncertainty associated with the science of climate change and global warming and determine the present state of our knowledge. The study examines several issues (as defined in the terms of reference) in the light of a large number of
publications in the recent literature and describes the present status and uncertainties associated with these issues.
