Effective May 8, 2006 the $300 fee for reclamation certificate applications on upstream oil and gas sites is being replaced with a $700 fee.
The new fee was recommended by the Upstream Oil and Gas Reclamation and Remediation Advisory Committee to fund the Government of Alberta's external costs for environmental field audits on sites that receive reclamation certificates (including hiring a consultant and collecting and analyzing soil samples).
Oil and gas operators applying for a reclamation certificate must submit the fee with their application. Any applications received after May 8, 2006 without the $700 fee will be returned with a request for the new amount.

The Record of Site Condition form is used to track environmental characteristics of a contaminated or potentially contaminated site. It allows site information to be updated as additional Phase 2 ESA and remediation work is completed.
On April 6, 2009, the Department released a new version of the Record of Site Condition form. The 2009 version is required for any new information being submitted to the Department and for any reports submitted between May 1, 2008 and April 6, 2009 without a Record of Site Condition form. You can find additional information on the form and companion documents by returning to its main web-link.
