Paper is one of the most commonly recycled products, yet it is also the largest single contributor to waste in the province. Mixed Waste Paper - Mixed papers consist of a variety of waste paper from high-end white ledger papers to lower value packaging papers such as cereal boxes and milk cartons. The market value for mixed paper is relatively low. Where do we take paper to be recycled? Most residential recycling programs accept paper. Municipalities across Alberta have various methods for paper collection. In some cases recyclables are picked up through curbside collection programs and in other cases citizens need to take their paper to a designated location. Contact your municipality to find out what happens in your district. Or, check your Yellow Pages under “recycling” to find out more on recycling opportunities in your area. |
