Their members promote professional excellence in nonformal organizations, K-12 classrooms, universities (both instructors and students), government agencies, and corporate settings throughout North America and in over 55 other countries.

The North American Waterfowl Management Plan is an international action plan to conserve migratory birds throughout the continent. The Plan's goal is to return waterfowl populations to their 1970s levels by conserving wetland and upland habitat. Canada and the United States signed the Plan in 1986 in reaction to critically low numbers of waterfowl. NAWMP is active in Alberta.

Northern CARE strives to: Coordinate recycling and waste management initiatives in northern Alberta; promote the importance of northern recycling and waste management; and coordinate and develop partnerships.

NSERC's PromoScience program offers financial support for organizations working with young Canadians to promote an understanding of science and engineering. Funding will be provided only to ongoing natural sciences and engineering promotion activities, and not to projects of limited duration.
Through PromoScience, NSERC may award up to $2.75 million dollars in 2005. Organizations may request funds for up to three years at a time.

The Oldman Watershed Council (OWC) is a not-for-profit organization that is working in partnership with communities and residents to improve the Oldman River Watershed. The Council consists of members who live or work within the Oldman Basin. These members provide leadership and guidance in watershed planning and management, water quality monitoring, and stewardship promotion.

The Prairie Conservation Forum is a large voluntary coalition of stakeholder groups whose members are interested in the conservation of native prairie and parkland environments in Alberta, Canada. The Forum, which has been in existence for over 15 years, is currently involved in the implementation of the Alberta Prairie Conservation Action Plan.
