Alberta Fish and Game Association Landowner Recognition Habitat Programs

Here is an opportunity to work with your local landowners who have preserved habitat in their area. The program is entitled "Habitat Steward" and "Heritage Farmstead" which were developed to recognized landowners who have a life-long interest in preserving wildlife habitat and who also carry out responsible land management practices on their land. Environment Week - May 31 - June 6, 2009

Environment Week is May 31 - June 6, 2009. This year the theme is Your Action Counts! Land: Connect, Protect, Conserve

Environment Week promotes and celebrates the work accomplished by Albertans to protect and sustain our natural heritage. It provides opportunities for all Albertans to become better-informed stewards and to adopt more responsible actions. If you're planning a speacil event, let us know and we'll help spread the work. Make your event an official Environment Week Green Stop. Green Stops are events that educate, empower and engage the public.Click here to learn more.

Alberta Environment's role is to support regional efforts to organize public events during the week and to develop in-house activities for department staff.

Fish Creek Provincial Park

Fish Creek Provincial Park and its partners (the University of Calgary Archaeological Department and the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society) offer a variety of public education programs to learn more about parks and protected areas, cultural and natural history, wildlife, and the environment. They also offer a number of Tuesday Tours in the Park in the summer months. Visit this page frequently to see what opportunities are available.
