Waste Reduction Week Recycling Councils across Canada will be celebrating the Waste Reduction Week in Canada October 14-20, 2013 One Simple Act School Toolkit The One Simple Act School Toolkit provides grades one to six teachers with the tools and resources to have students personally commit to one of ten simple acts that protect the environment. This toolkit is flexible, offering a collection of tools that teachers can draw on based on students’ needs. Tips Download Alberta Environment's Resource List. This kit is best suited for Grade Five Science (Wetland Ecosystems) and combines a variety of hands-on, interactive activities with inquiry-based learning. The kit includes: a teacher’s guide, supplementary resources, posters and a DVD. The poster and DVD can be ordered by emailing Alberta Environment at env.infocent@gov.ab.ca
This comprehensive Teacher's Guide is organized in sequential order, beginning with an exploration into wetlands and ending with action-orientated projects and activities, including a wetland field trip.
