Celebrate Environment Week

Environment Week celebrates Alberta's environment. It is a great time to learn more about what you can do to help preserve and protect our environment. Your action counts! Participating in local Environment Week events is a great way to discover easy things you can do for the environment. The choices you make - big and small - really do make a difference.

Alberta’s Environment Week Theme: Climate Change

Much of the concern around climate change is the release of excess greenhouse gases from human activities into the earth’s atmosphere. Burning fossil fuels for energy is a major source of greenhouse gases. By conserving energy, we cut back on emissions of greenhouses gases and the impact on our climate.

Environment Week 2006 is a great time to start taking action on climate change:

  • Learn more about climate change
  •
  • Discover how to reduce your greenhouse gas emissions
  •
  • Make a commitment to action - reduce your greenhouse gas emissions and conserve energy. It will save you money every day: at home, at school, at work and on the road.

Environment Week is June 4 to June 10, 2006.
